ABOUT
Juan Jaliff (b. 1982, Mendoza, Argentina) is a fine art photographer working in analog and digital media. Largely self-taught, he began photography at the age of fifteen with his father’s Zenith film camera and later studied Graphic Design at Universidad Champagnat in Mendoza.
His practice is centered on portraiture and documentary image-making, exploring domestic life, memory, childhood, and the cultural identity of Argentina. A lifelong interest in cinema and visual storytelling also led him to establish a cinema ephemera store, creating a space dedicated to the shared experience of film and culture.
Jaliff’s work often focuses on the people, and traditions that shape contemporary Argentine life. He has collaborated with cultural institutions throughout Argentina, including La Trastienda, whose partnership brought him to Dubai during Expo 2020. He has also worked extensively with acclaimed Argentine winemaker Alejandro Vigil, producing a body of images that reflects the significance of wine and gastronomy within the country’s cultural landscape.
